Well then. It's been six plus years since I last blogged, think I'm going to give it a go one more time.
I know, I know; the blog thing is overstated, overdone, overrated, blah, blah, blah. However, I do not care; never have really. I dance to the beat of my own drum, or at least try to, anyway. So here it is, my blog, yet again. This time, though, I am going to try and to commit to it. Make this blog my baby, my thing, my every day "job", if you will.
So sit back, enjoy, and have a few laughs with me, maybe even shed a few tears with me as well, both happy and sad. Some stories will be true, some will be fiction. Some are from the depths of my soul, others to just tickle your fancy.
I have nothing but good intentions for this blog; I hope you do as well.
So, who's with me?! I'm looking forward to this, I hope you are too!
Here's a favorite photo of mine to start your happiness!

P.S. I will say this once, and once only: "The expressions posted here on 'The Life And Times Of A BlondeSoul' are mine and mine alone. If you offend easily, well, I feel sorry for you. Read my blog but don't get offended and please, do not take it personally; it's mine and I'm proud of my creation".

Frogs...no more...

Well it's official. The pool is going. I finally drained it completely. Lost a few tadpoles in the process, too. There is a puddle in the middle of it that the few remaining frogs-to-be are swimming around in, but as of tomorrow (Saturday) they will be no longer. I found someone that wants the pool. The first person I asked too, go figure. I really had it set in my mind that no one would want a free pool. Why would they? Don't they know how much I want to keep the pool? How much I will miss it? (Yes, I know, we haven't used it in two years, but it's comforting to know that it's there if I wanted to!). It's OK though. It's going to a good home...I guess. I haven't met the Pool-takers yet.
Here's some photos of the frogs...see how tiny! Can you tell what the last one is?? Leave me a message and let me know.....

Frog Update:
Well, we still have frogs. A whole lot of them, too. I tried to count the little bastards, but there's too many. Our pool is now like a science project. I scooped up about a dozen tadpoles a few weeks ago, several gallons of the stagnant water they are enjoying so much, and a bucket of the leaves from the bottom. Packed everything neatly in the trunk of my car and drove them to my sister's house. She has three girls and I thought the youngest two would have fun with them. I, of course, called her and asked if she wanted them; I didn't just ring the door bell and run! She has told me that the girls love them, and Violet (she's 3) adds a couple of leaves to the aquarium daily.
My "pets" hopefully will be gone soon...I really want to get the pool drained before fall, but don't have the heart to drain right now. And I'm a hunter...go figure! I heard them last night, at least I think it's coming from the pool. If they're making noise, they might be ready to move out!
One good thing about all this, the birds are having a feast! I watch them when I'm outside...I think they are Eastern Phoebes. They will sit on the side of the pool, dive into it, scoop out a tadpole (or some other kind of crunchy-on-the-outside-squishy-on-the-inside-goodness) and eat it up! On occasion, there's a family of birds, mommas and poppas feeding their young.
All in all, it hasn't been too bad; sucks that we didn't get to open and use the pool, would have been a great summer for it, but I had fun with the pool anyway.

The Pool...

We have a pool. It's an above ground, 24' diameter, 5' deep pool. We have a solar cover for it and a cool shark thermometer (he's wearing sunglasses!) that floats around. All in all a very nice pool. Unfortunately we haven't opened it for the last two summers. The pump for it died, and we just haven't been able to justify spending the $300 on a new one. So there the pool sits. Cover on from almost 3 falls ago. I have made an attempt to open it several times this summer. The goal was to drain the cover (which is full of stagnent water and leaves), then drain the pool and start fresh with clean water, clean pool and maybe, just maybe, get a new or used pump. I drained the cover a total of 3 times now. Just when I get it done, we get rain. I finally gave up. What's the point, right? Well, now I am regretting that decision. We have Tadpoles living in the cover! They are huge, too. Almost frog stage. I should have known this too; in the spring we had frogs living in the cover. That was kind of neat, the sounds they emit at night would help me sleep. Norman didn't like it too much, but I did. Until now. Frogs, we have frogs people!! How can I swim in that pool now? I have a hard enough time swimming in a lake, let alone a frog infested pool!! AHHHH!!!! Just to prove it, here's a photo of one of the little buggers. I was in the garden yesterday and found one just like this except it was no bigger than my thumbnail. Cute, but now I'm not really into eating the lettuce that I planted. *sigh*

Hey!
Hey there....
This is totally new for me, but thought I'd give it a try.
Don't know what I have to say that anyone would be interested in, but what the hell.
If you're interested, cool; if not cool too.
So...let's begin...
